Meet the Gemologist

Joseph Shihadeh brings eight years of professional jewelry experience and a wealth of knowledge to his position as gemologist at Detroit Jewelry Appraisers. He studied at the Gemological Institute of America, earning a Graduate Gemologist diploma (GG). He has earned the highly regarded title of Fellow of Gemology (FGA) from the Gemological Association of Great Britain, where he also obtained a Diamond Graduate with distinction (DGA).

Joseph uses his trusted expertise to assess the true grade and value of gems, jewelry and watches for individuals, other jewelry professionals and attorneys. Whether you need an accurate, unbiased value of your precious items for authenticity, insurance purposes, resale, replacement, estate planning, tax planning, asset distribution, bankruptcy proceedings or expert testimony, you can rely on our results.

Each piece is examined thoroughly, using advanced testing equipment in our gem lab, and compared against our gemological reference library in the appraisal office. The results are then expertly interpreted for a comprehensive report. You can be confident that every item will be handled with the utmost care.

Time and again, Joseph has helped bring peace of mind to clients, delivering the scientific, accurate information they need about their most treasured items. Schedule your appointment today.
